[Memphis TN – 04/05/2024] – Get ready for a sizzling experience like no other as SmokeSlam - The World's Ultimate BBQ Showdown, presents the B&B Charcoal Live Fire Extravaganza, hosted by NBBQA, from May 16th to May 18th, 2024. This event promises to set a new standard for all barbecue enthusiasts, foodies, and music fans as they converge on Tom Lee Park for a three-day festival experience of all things BBQ, live music, and FUN!
General admission attendees can expect a feast for all their senses with a lineup of exciting activities that include:
Live Fire Sampling Experience: All attendees will get to experience live fire samples from BOTH the B&B Charcoal live fire wagons and also from the grills of world-renowned live fire artist Al Frugoni and his team. This experience promises to deliver an unforgettable and totally different experience from anything ever witnessed in the Memphis area.
NBBQA BBQ Bazaar: Open to the general public and VIP guests from 2 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, featuring a wide array of vendors showcasing products and offering samples.
Live Demos: Sixteen live demonstrations from renowned BBQ professionals will happen throughout the event, focusing on backyard grilling essentials such as steaks, chicken, veggies, and more. Spectators will also get to enjoy samples of each demo presented for all three days. AV setups will ensure attendees don't miss a moment of the action as well.
Live Music: Concerts will be held nightly as well in addition to the incredible BBQ and Grilling happening. These concerts will include Ton Loc, Rob Base, Young MC, WAR, and The Bar-Kays just to name a few. More info is set to come on this incredible entertainment line-up.
Meet and Greet With BBQ Influencers: B&B Charcoal and NBBQA will both have a mega list of World-renowned BBQ and Grilling influencers including TFTI, Seattle Butchers Wife, Mad Scientist BBQ, Al Frugoni, Derek Wolf (Over The Fire Cooking), and Erica Roby, who will all be hanging out and helping with demos and providing thousands of live fire samples for all three days during SmokeSlam.
BBQ & Grilling Contests With $250,000 Up For Grabs: In addition to the public experiences SmokeSlam will also host the largest payout ever for their different BBQ competitions. The World Junior BBQ League competitors will be showcasing their skills for a total of $25,000 in a showdown on Saturday while the World Food Championships will host several opportunities to grab their prized “Golden Tickets” in addition to $40,000 in cash payouts. The main event will be a showdown in the Memphis Barbecue Network contest that will award $50,000 to the overall grand champion while awarding a total of $150,000 in total prize money.
Esteemed demo presenters and BBQ bazaar brands will include: B&B Charcoal, Al Frugoni, Tuffy Stone, Myron Mixon, Melissa Cookston, John Lindsey (All Q’ed Up), Thyron Matthews, Mike Starr (Blazing Star BBQ), Peg Leg Porkers, Ray Sheehan, with special guest demos and appearances from Food Network Champions Erica Roby and Lil’ Gringa Rae Barker.
VIP guests will enjoy exclusive perks, including access to all of the incredible amenities offered inside the sectioned-off area located right in the middle of this food and music extravaganza.
