From its origins in the south, barbecue has grown into a national phenomenon. This year’s conference theme, BBQ Coast to Coast–Bold Flavors and Bright Ideas, was developed with that in mind. Holding this event on the west coast for the first time was the perfect opportunity to showcase barbecue’s influence across the country—from the traditional favorites to California’s own Santa Maria style, and all points in between. The conference featured educational seminars, restaurant tours, networking opportunities, and plenty of barbecue all-stars. Other highlights of this year's event included the Awards of Excellence presentation and the People's Choice Competition. Congratulations to these great AOE winners and People's Choice winners.
